The 2013 Budget that the Obama Administration has submitted to Congress (yes, after more than 1,000 days they have finally gotten around to submitting a budget), will require military retirees to pay higher premiums (in some cases, it will be a 345% increase) for less care, while active duty military will pay higher prescription drug co-pays. On top of that, the Administration has seen fit to leave the premiums for civilian union workers where they are at now. Can there be any reasonable doubt that Obama and his Democrat Syndicate are a wholly-owned subsidiary of Organized Labor?

Worse yet, there is a reason Obama is doing this:

The Obama administration’s proposed defense budget calls for military families and retirees to pay sharply more for their healthcare, while leaving unionized civilian defense workers’ benefits untouched. The proposal is causing a major rift within the Pentagon, according to U.S. officials. Several congressional aides suggested the move is designed to increase the enrollment in Obamacare’s state-run insurance exchanges.

The disparity in treatment between civilian and uniformed personnel is causing a backlash within the military that could undermine recruitment and retention.

That’s right; Obama is screwing our military retirees and active duty personnel in order to force them into ObamaCare and inflate the enrollment numbers to make it look like people are flocking to it. He is trying to create the false impression that the most hated piece of legislation ever forced upon the American People is somehow now popular. In a series of polls of likely voters taken during the year following the Democrats’ midnight passage party for ObamaCare (a total of 53 polls), in each and every poll the majority of respondents favored repeal, and by double-digit margins in all polls except one.

Oh, and in case you thought this was a one-time thrashing:

“Significantly, the plan calls for increases between 30 percent to 78 percent in Tricare annual premiums for the first year. After that, the plan will impose five-year increases ranging from 94 percent to 345 percent—more than 3 times current levels,” the Beacon reported.

That isn’t a typo — the Obama plan will force increases of up to 345% in premiums for retirees, while at the same time allowing his buddies in Organized Labor to continue their coverage without any significant increases.

When these men and women signed up to protect, defend, and maybe even die for this country, we as a country made them a promise. In exchange for literally everything they have, we promised them healthcare for themselves and their families. In light of how much this generation (and past generations) have given for this country, we need to view this promise as sacred.

So, the time has come to make a decision. Will we, as a Nation, allow this thug from Chicago, bent on the destruction of our economy, to rob our retired military brothers and sisters of their right to healthcare, as we promised them so long ago? Will we allow members of labor unions the privilege of low-cost medical insurance, thanks to the American taxpayers’ generosity, and for no other reason than they got Obama elected, while injured Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, and Marines are forced to pay ever-increasing premiums and are eventually forced to enroll in ObamaCare?

As for me, as always, I’ll stand with the men and women who sacrificed so much to protect me, my family, my freedom, and the rights of all Americans. I do so proudly, and hope that I can do something which will make a difference. If you all will join me at the polls in November 2012, we can make sure that we bring an end to this madness the Democrats and Liberals have wrought upon us. Together, we can right this ship and get America back onto the course of greatness for which she was intended.

Leave it to Obama to screw up what has been the one thing he’s done since his election which hasn’t, in some way, hurt America.

President Obama has made a “categorical” decision not to release any photos of Usama bin Laden’s dead body, according to the White House, citing concern that doing so could inflame sentiment against Americans.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Wednesday that the president consulted his national security team and ultimately decided it would be too risky to release any images of the body. Obama also determined the administration has already proved bin Laden is dead, he said.

Really? These radical sons-of-bitches flew airplanes filled with innocent people into buildings filled with innocent people, watched them burn or jump to their deaths, then celebrated on the streets of the Middle East. How much more inflamed can they get?

When all is said and done, this is just another weak-assed decision made by a weak-assed individual who is more worried about who likes him then what is right. These radicals are from the stone age, and the only proof of death they will accept is a picture or video. They hate us to the point of automatically believing the exact opposite of anything we say. Obama standing at a podium saying Bin Laden is dead won’t convince anyone in the Middle East of that fact. It isn’t like we’re talking about rational, thinking people here.

Crap. I was just about to write a post on how well I thought Obama had handled this whole situation, then he goes and does this.

Once again, The Obamasiah© is talking down America to other countries by apologizing for something which deserves no apology whatsoever:

The son of the U.S. Air Force pilot who dropped the first atomic bomb in the history of warfare says the Obama administration’s decision to send a U.S. delegation to a ceremony in Japan to mark the 65th anniversary of the attack on Hiroshima is an “unsaid apology” and appears to be an attempt to “rewrite history.”

Gene Tibbets, son of Brig. Gen. Paul W. Tibbets, Jr., says Friday’s visit to Hiroshima by U.S. Ambassador John Roos is an act of contrition that his late father would never have approved.

“It’s an unsaid apology,” Tibbets, 66, told FoxNews.com from his home in Georgiana, Ala. “Why wouldn’t it be? Why would [Roos] go? It doesn’t make any sense.

“I know it’s the anniversary, but I don’t know what the hell they’re trying to do. It needs to be left alone. The war is over.”

While controversial, America’s use of the Atomic Bomb to end World War II has been almost universally acknowledged to have ended the war sooner than other strategies available at the time, while at the same time saving thousands of American soldiers’ lives. Apparently, Obama is ashamed of this and feels the need to apologize to a country who, at the time was guilty of killing a couple thousand Americans in a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor.

When asked about it, the Obama Administration did what it does best; it passed the buck:

White House officials on Wednesday referred calls to the State Department, which did not respond to several inquiries about how the decision was made or if national veterans organizations were contacted prior to the announcement that a delegation would attend the commemoration.

Would you expect anything else from someone who spent most of his time in political office voting “Present” on important issues? This is yet another example of how the Obama Administration’s lack of Foreign Policy experience is destroying America’s reputation and credibility around the world. By the time The Obamasiah© leaves office in January of 2013, the world’s sole remaining super-power will be regarded as no more than a third-world banana republic by other world powers. This will be the lasting legacy of Barack Obama.

THE SOLDIER

It is the soldier, not the protester, that guarantees the right of freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the priest, that guarantees the right of freedom of religion.

It is the soldier, not the journalist, that guarantees the right of freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the police officer, that guarantees the right of due process of law.

It is the soldier, not the judge, that guarantees the right to a fair trial.

And it is the soldier; the one who salutes the flag, honors the flag, raises the flag at the beginning of the day, lowers the flag at the end of the day, folds the flag, and protects the flag, that gives American citizens the right to burn the flag.

Without men and women who love freedom so much that they are willing to stand up for it, fight for it, and yes — even die for it, there is no freedom.

Freedom is not free. If you are an American and you enjoy your freedom, thank those veterans who preserved it for you in the past and those currently wearing the uniform who protect it for you today.

Prior to his coronation election, Conservatives were worried about Obamaa’s lack of experience with Foreign Policy matters, and the President’s actions recently are a perfect illustration of why they were worried:

North Korea broke U.N. rules once more by testing a rocket that could be used for a long range missile.

“This provocation underscores the need for action — not just this afternoon at the U.N. Security Council, but in our determination to prevent the spread of these weapons. Rules must be binding. Violations must be punished,” Obama said in a speech calling for the long-term abolition of all nuclear weapons delivered at Prague’s historic Hradcany Square.

“Words must mean something. The world must stand together to prevent the spread of these weapons. Now is the time for a strong international response. North Korea must know that the path to security and respect will never come through threats and illegal weapons,” he said.

That’s right — Obama has threatened to go to the UN to get another resolution which tells North Korea to stop developing missiles. After all, the first one was sooooo effective.

The UN is the most impotent organization on the planet, with the exception of the French military. Kim Jong Il will ignore any new UN resolution just like he did the old one. Apparently, the only people intimidated by the UN are its female employees.

So, North Korea launches a communications satellite long-range ballistic missile, thus proving that they steadily making progress towards becoming a threat to other countries, including the US, and what does Obama do? He cuts the missile defense budget:

There has always been an air of absurdity about the opposition to missile-defense systems. No one argues that missiles aren’t a threat, but somehow defending ourselves against it is illegitimate unless one stumbles on a complete, perfect defense immediately. That we have never found a perfect defense against any weapon on the first throw doesn’t appear to faze people at all.

You see, Obama is worried that developing a ballistic missile shield isn’t “cost-effective.” Instead of investing in technology which has the potential to save millions of American lives, he would rather spend trillions to bail out failing businesses and control America’s banks. The development of the atomic bomb was nowhere near “cost-effective” in the 1940′s, but its development lead to the end of World War II and saved hundreds of thousands of American lives by negating the need to invade Japan.

So far, Obama has failed to do anything positive with regards to Foreign Policy besides nurture his personal popularity by apologizing for America everywhere he visits. Apparently, Obama’s top Foreign Policy goal is to be popular with the Europeans and grovel for forgiveness for America’s past sins. This strategy, if you can call it that, will lead to the loss of American life, perhaps on a large scale. Leaders like Kim Jong Il no longer fear reprisals from America; Obama has made it clear that he intends to make America the UN’s bitch as long as he is in office. Unfortunately, I don’t think Obama will come to his senses until it is too late and we’re all mourning more of our fellow citizens.

In a move that only someone with a deep-seated hatred of the men and women who risk their lives to protect our rights could dream up, Obama wants to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of wounded veterans with service-related injuries.

The leader of the nation’s largest veterans organization says he is “deeply disappointed and concerned” after a meeting with President Obama today to discuss a proposal to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries. The Obama administration recently revealed a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in such cases.

“It became apparent during our discussion today that the President intends to move forward with this unreasonable plan,” said Commander David K. Rehbein of The American Legion. “He says he is looking to generate $540-million by this method, but refused to hear arguments about the moral and government-avowed obligations that would be compromised by it.”

Refused to hear arguments? I knew that Obama had absolutely no experience going into his first term, but this is just arrogance. It appears that the Obamessiah has started to believe his own press.

When a citizen volunteers for the armed services, one of the pacts which is made is that the country will take care of the solider should they be wounded in service to their country. It’s practically a sacred oath between the armed services and the individual. If Obama gets his way, our wounded veterans, and even veterans who are not wounded, will be screwed in the following ways:

Small businesses will refuse to hire these folks because it will drive up their insurance costs.

People will stop volunteering for military service.

Coverage limits for wounded veterans could be exhausted by the veteran’s injuries alone, leaving the rest of the family without coverage.

Everybody’s insurance rates will increase to cover the costs now incurred by private insurance companies in caring for the wounded veterans.

Its obvious that Obama cares not one whit about the people who risk their lives to protect the freedom we enjoy in this country. Remember this; Obama is doing this at the same time he is spending trillions of dollars on pork in the budget, in baling out deadbeats with mortgage problems, and giving billions of dollars to mismanaged banks who are still operating under the direction of the people who mismanaged them in the first place.

This is the “hope” and “change” liberal America brought to the government. My guess would be that the liberals in power are too stupid to be ashamed of what Obama is doing to our veterans.

UPDATE: Ed Morrissey at Hot Air reminds us that all of Obama’s campaign promises have an expiration date, even if it is a “sacred trust.”

President Bush vetoed an intelligence authorization bill sent to him by Congress today, and during his weekly radio address to the nation he explained why:

The bill Congress sent me would take away one of the most valuable tools in the War on Terror — the CIA program to detain and question key terrorist leaders and operatives. This program has produced critical intelligence that has helped us prevent a number of attacks.

The program helped us stop a plot to strike a U.S. Marine camp in Djibouti, a planned attack on the U.S. consulate in Karachi, a plot to hijack a passenger plane and fly it into Library Tower in Los Angeles and a plot to crash passenger planes into Heathrow Airport or buildings in downtown London. And it has helped us understand Al Qaeda’s structure and financing and communications and logistics.

Were it not for this program, our intelligence community believes that Al Qaeda and its allies would have succeeded in launching another attack against the American homeland.

The main reason this program has been effective is that it allows the CIA to use specialized interrogation procedures to question a small number of the most dangerous terrorists under careful supervision.

The bill Congress sent me would deprive the CIA of the authority to use these safe and lawful techniques. Instead, it would restrict the CIA’s range of acceptable interrogation methods to those provided in the Army Field Manual.

Think about it: The Democrats in Congress are perfectly fine with terrorists flying planes into buildings, just as long as the CIA didn’t use harsh interrogation techniques in an attempt to stop them. Do you really think that these people have the safety of the American people as their first priority?

Some Democrats went on the record with their thoughts on Bush’s veto:

This president had the chance to end the torture debate for good, yet he chose instead to leave the door open to use torture in the future,” said Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

…

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the nation’s ability to lead the world depends on its morality, not military might. “We will begin to reassert that moral authority by attempting to override the president’s veto next week,” said Pelosi, D-Calif.

…

Sen. Jay Rockefeller, chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said he had heard nothing to suggest that the CIA, through enhanced interrogation methods, had obtained information to thwart a terrorist attack. “On the other hand, I do know that coercive interrogations can lead detainees to provide false information in order to make the interrogation stop,” said Rockefeller, D-W.Va.

…

“The president’s refusal to sign this crucial legislation into law will undermine counterterrorism efforts globally and delay efforts to rebuild U.S. credibility on human rights,” said Elisa Massimino, Washington director for Human Rights First.

Do you notice anything missing from the above statements? Not one of these Democrats said anything about the safety of the United States or it’s citizens. They mention “our credibility” with other nations. Rockefeller, without, of course, citing any sources, openly calls Bush a liar when he says that these techniques have not provided any information which proved to be useful. In typical Democrat fashion, instead of addressing a policy issue the Senator instead uses the issue to make a personal attack on the President. Does that sound like someone who cares about your safety? No, it doesn’t. What it sounds like is just another liberal whose hatred of George Bush has so infected his thought process that everything he says or does must make the President look bad. BSD at it’s worst.

If the worst happens this November and a Democrat is elected, the one change you can bet money will happen is this: The War on Terror will be lost by a bunch of liberal buffoons who are more interested in their own political power and what other countries think of us than they are about the safety of this country and it’s citizens. When they’re finished stripping the military of the funds needed to keep them equipped and ready to fight, and instead using that money to fund more and more entitlement programs, the country will suffer another terrorist attack of the magnitude of 9/11 or bigger.

But hey, that’s OK, right? At least we will not have mistreated any terrorists trying to find anything out. Remember, according to the Democrats, that is what is most important.

Before you blow your top about the holiday hassle at the airport, the long lines at the grocery store, all the hours you’ll spend cooking and cleaning, the uninvited guests who are crashing hubby’s football party, and the endless Christmas shopping list that awaits, just stop.

Stop and think of the Johnson family. Army Spc. John Austin Johnson of El Paso, Texas, is recovering from massive head wounds sustained in an IED attack. Johnson is a member of Fort Bliss’ 4-1 Cavalry. He had survived five previous bombing incidents. That is not all.

That isn’t nearly all of it. Do yourself a favor and read the entire post. Afterwards, get down on your knees and pray for the Johnsons, for your family, and our Country. The football can wait a few minutes.
