Republican Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin fulfilled one of his biggest campaign pledges today when he signed a bill into law which greatly reduced the ability of public sector unions to collectively bargain. Looking at a budget deficit of over three billion dollars, Walker promised on the campaign trail that he would force state workers to shoulder more of the burden of paying for their health care benefits and pensions.

In response, when this legislation came up for a vote in the State Senate, 14 Democrats ran across the border to Illinois, denying the Senate a quorum and therefore preventing the vote. After two weeks of back and forth arguing across the state line, Republicans in the Senate finally stripped the bill of all budgetary provisions, while leaving in the provisions stripping the unions of their bargaining power, which allowed them to take a vote without the Democrats present. Shortly thereafter the State Assembly quickly passed the new bill and sent it to the Governor for signature.

Now, if you know anything about unions, especially public sector unions, you know what their first response was: they started a protest at the state capital building. Now had this protest lasted a day or two and then subsided, there wouldn’t have been any problems. However, as is usually the case with these types of events, the unions called in their thugs to start pushing people around and threatening anyone who dared disagree with their position. A sympathetic press core portrayed the protesters as people who were being railroaded by the State out of their retirement and health care benefits; rarely did they show the signs comparing Walker to Hitler or the union thugs hitting people with protest signs. In fact, the press, with the exception of Fox News, failed to report on any of the union’s thuggery during the protest.

So, just to remind you about the type of people these union thugs are, you need to read this:

Please explain to them that this is because if we get rid of you and your families then it will save the rights of 300,000 people and also be able to close the deficit that you have created. I hope you have a good time in hell. Read below for more information on possible scenarios in which you will die.

A couple of things to keep in mind here: Most of the people who were protesting were teachers, so the person responsible for this more than likely is in daily contact with school children. We can’t tell for sure, because the name was withheld. Also, when you read the entire thing, you realize that these animals are perfectly fine with injuring or killing innocent people to achieve their political ends. There is a word for that:

The 2010 Mid-Term Elections have come and gone, and for the most part the Democrats were slapped around pretty good. The House has changed hands from Democrats to Republicans and the Senate just barely stayed Democrat. Changes are coming to Washington, and if they fail to materialize the next election could see voters remove even more long-time politicians from their positions of power.

According to Matt Bai of the New York Times, Obama sees himself as a Blue Dog Democrat…

Privately, Mr. Obama has described himself, at times, as essentially a Blue Dog Democrat, referring to the shrinking caucus of fiscally conservative members of the party.

That sound you hear is millions of Americans laughing out loud at the idea that you could even try to put the words “fiscal conservative” and “Barack Obama” in the same sentence with a straight face. Even if this was true, it still bodes bad for Obama; look what happened to the Blue Dogs in the Mid-Terms.

To top it off, Obama is once again going on vacation for two weeks in Hawaii starting December 18th. At over $187,000.00 per hour for use of Air Force One and all associated personnel, plus whatever his food and lodging costs will be, I guess he’s showing his fiscal conservatism by taking yet another vacation on the public dime. Don’t misunderstand — I’m not trying to say that Presidents should not go on vacations, but isn’t this like the fifth or sixth one this year? When was the last time you took that many vacations in a single year? Being that the economy is in such a mess, wouldn’t it have been more prudent for him to have spent some of that vacation time at Camp David? Like I said, a fiscal conservative he is not.

It also looks like the Democrats are going to try to cram some real bad legislation down our throats during the “lame-duck” session. They’re going to attempt to foment class warfare once again by denying successful Americans (the people who actually pay most of the taxes) tax relief while giving tax relief to those folks who make less than $250K a year (the people who pay greatly reduced or no taxes). Tax relief should be for everybody, and holding the Bush tax cuts hostage in an attempt to soak the wealthy is going to backfire on the Democrats. Failing to extend all of the tax cuts is going to kill jobs and capital investments by small and large businesses. Its very possible it could edge the unemployment rate to 10% or higher. UPDATE 12/03/2010: Unemployment Rate has already jumped to 9.8%.

Harry Reid also wants to try to force passage of his illegal alien amnesty bill, otherwise known as the DREAM Act. Has anyone figured out why Reid hates Americans so much that he wants to charge legal residents of this country more for college tuition than he would charge illegal aliens? Does that even make sense?

Finally, has anyone pointed out to Harry Reid that he should probably read the U.S. Constitution (you know, the document he promised to protect and defend) when he crafts legislation? Even I know that all revenue-raising bills have to originate in the House, and cannot be written in the Senate. Apparently, this little detail slipped Harry’s mind when he and his friends put together the Food Safety Bill, which now appears to be dead in the water. Even I can’t believe these Democrats are this stupid.

The end of this session of Congress cannot come soon enough.

I was up early today and got to the polls right before they opened. Then I was one my way to work before 7:30 a.m., having cast my ballot quickly and without problem. I have to say that I was impressed with the election workers at my precinct (3109); the one problem they had was handled quickly and caused little delay for the voter.

I think my choices are pretty obvious, so I won’t bore you with a recitation. However, I have to say that the liberals and Democrats are still trying to change minds by calling conservatives angry, crazy, misinformed, or as Mike Thomas put it, “Conservatives are benefiting from mass confusion and ignorance.” Funny how whenever people disagree with Democrats, Democrats immediately think it is because the person who disagrees is somehow less intelligent or confused. They never, ever consider the possibility that they are wrong.

Well, this time they were wrong, and today the Democrat Party has to pay the piper. I predict that the GOP takes 55 to 60 seats in the House, and anywhere from 8 to 10 seats in the Senate. Obama will be a lame duck for the next two years.

UPDATE 9:30 P.M. CST: Perry takes the Governor’s race (57% to 41%)! Also, Canseco leads 53% to 40% over Rodriguez!

With only a week to go before the 2010 Midterm Elections, it is easy to see the Democrats are having a hard time facing the coming ass-kicking. Yes, my friends, the liberals are starting to get just that much more loony:

He [Hitler] wasn’t a majority guy, but he was charismatic and they were having bad economic times – just like we are now – people were out of work, they needed jobs and a guy came along and rallied the troops. My fear is that the Tea Party gets a charismatic leader, because all they’re selling is fear and anger and that’s all Hitler sold. “I’m angry and I’m frightened and you should hate that guy over there.”

It sure didn’t take the liberals long to play the “Nazi card”, did it? I guess that’s why they call him Meathead.

Joe Biden thinks that the Democrats will keep majorities in both Houses of Congress, despite Republicans, “spending more than $200 Billion” on campaign advertising.

Election Day is next Tuesday, and I will be getting up as early as I can to go vote and to enjoy the massacre. There will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth, and I don’t want to miss a second of it.

The Obamassiah is out and about the country, trying to get out the Democrat vote in an attempt to stave off the coming electoral massacre. So, what’s his message to fire up the faithful? Vote Democrat to ensure the survival of Health Care Reform? Vote Democrat to continue stimulus spending? Vote Democrat to keep the Republicans out? Nope. This is his message:

President Barack Obama’s message to thousands of African Americans who came to see the man they voted for two years ago was simple: Get out and vote for the Democratic ticket in next month’s mid-term elections, even though he’s not on the ballot.

“Don’t make me look bad, now,” he quipped.

The entire country is going to hell in a hand basket, and all Obama cares about is how he looks. The only thing which would have made this situation perfect would have been if he had made this plea from the 18th hole on whatever golf course he is living on this week.

“The campaign by itself didn’t deliver the change that we need. It just gave us the chance to make the change happen,” Obama said. “We’ve got a lot at stake right now. On Nov. 2nd, I’m going to need you just as fired up as you were in 2008.”

Something to consider here: After being swept into office in 2008 with filibuster-proof majorities in both Houses of Congress, Obama still could not deliver the changes he promised on the campaign trail. Why not? It wasn’t the Republicans who stopped him; they couldn’t. What stopped Obama were the people in his own party who either disagreed with him or who were holding out for more for their particular special interest group. The labor unions wanted more, the teacher’s unions wanted more, the abortion lobbies wanted more; it just never ended. Does anyone really think that this will stop, or even slow down, while Obama is in office?

November 2, 2010 looms before the Democrat Party like the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. The Republican Party is poised to take control of the House of Representatives, and may also take control of the Senate. This will render the Obamassiah impotent with regard to his legislative agenda to redistribute the wealth of the achievers in America to those who have not earned it. If we can get the right people elected, people who will work as hard as they can to reduce government spending and reduce entitlement programs, there is a chance our economy will be able to once again flourish.
