Obama Wants To Pass ObamaCare Quickly, Before People Know What Hit Them
Thursday, March 4th, 2010
In case you were wondering, it is now clear that President Obama is not just tone deaf; he’s decided that he doesn’t care what the citizens of the United States think about his health care reform bill. So, like it or not, he is trying to get the Democrats in Congress to commit political suicide and use reconciliation (otherwise known as the “Nuclear Option”) to shove his multi-trillion dollar government takeover of the health care industry down the people’s throats.
On Tuesday, President Obama offered Republicans a small bipartisan olive branch. On Wednesday, he hit them with a partisan sledgehammer by vowing Democrats would ram his “new” health care plan (a revised version of the bill the Senate passed on Christmas Eve) through Congress using a budget tactic known as reconciliation that was never designed for passing legislation revamping one-sixth of the U.S. economy.
Once again, the Democrats’ arrogance will lead to their electoral defeat at the polls this November. They know the public is against this version of reform, and they don’t care because they think you’re just too stupid to know any better. They think if only Obama would weave his rhetorical magic on the people and explain his plan to them in a way that would allow them to actually understand how brilliant it is. What they don’t seem to grasp is that lacking a clear and understandable description of what they want to do is only half the problem. The other half is the fact that the actual legislation doesn’t even exist yet. Remember, Obama is an “idea” guy; he’s great at thinking up popular ideas. Actually constructing the legislative language to make the idea work is, apparently, completely beyond his abilities. He leaves that to others under the guise of “getting other ideas.” It is a perfect example of his lack of any type of leadership ability. A leader would have made a reform proposal with actual details and strategies to accomplish the reform. Instead, he just handed it over to a group of people who can’t decide what to eat for lunch and said, “you do it!”
Now, it appears that Obama wants his reform passed by Congress before the Congressional Spring Break, in an effort to keep Democrats from having to face their constituants and explain why they refuse to represent them:
Democrats are racing the clock to pass health care reform ahead of a wave of Tea Party-driven town hall meetings planned for the spring recess — the kind of gatherings that nearly derailed the package last August.
But there’s a big difference this time around. Last summer, Democrats were encouraged to hold the town hall meetings, and they were blindsided by the backlash, which was recorded and promoted in countless YouTube clips. This time around, they have a good idea of what’s coming — and they’re lying low, in case work on health care carries over into the recess.

Watching Obama trying to get his seizure of the health care industry through Congress is like watching a six year old child try to do something he knows he shouldn’t. He tries to get it past the parents (the American People) with little or no explanation and before anyone knows what’s going on. He knows that if the parents catch on to what he’s doing, he’s done for. In this case, so are most of his friends.

This guy’s arrogance is appalling, and should be reason enough for his electoral defeat in 2012. With luck, a Republican-controlled Congress will be able to rollback any of the “reforms” he is able to get passed, and all of this will be just a bad dream.

Your leading graphic kind of says it all.
Instead of bankrupting the country on all sorts of “fixes”, why doesn’t Congress set the example for the country by adjusting THEIR (and their staff) salaries by 10% AND cutting administration costs by same percentage?! That should save bunches of money that can be used to help give health care to illegals.
Why not work on tort reform so insurance companies and doctors are not in the middle of this CYA medical administrations given to everybody?
Abortions being funded by public monies? Somebody wants an abortion, why not have public clinics funded by wealthy libs who swear abortions are the right of every woman? Let their money talk along with their mouths. I could never do an abortion; HOWEVER, we do not feel that women should have this safe procedure taken away from them. BUT it should not be funded by public funds. Forbiding abortion just sends desperate women into alleys and looking at coat hangers. Abortion is ugly, but their God is their God and they will face Him in their time to answer.
Of course, we don’t feel death-row inmates in California should be allowed to have a HEART TRANSPLANT that prevents a law-abiding citizen from benefiting from that donated heart! That happened, and at CA taxpayer expenses! The inmate sued, and the liberal court out there said, yes, hey, this fella that murdered somebody does deserve “good” health care right along side of Joe Law-Abiding Citizen! Amazing. As parents who signed papers allowing their brain-dead son to donate heart, kidneys, corneas, skin and bone marrow, the thought of our son’s heart, donated so we could cope at least by feeling that somebody gained something better by our losing our son, going to a murderer would make us insane.
I guess health issues will always be that — issues.

We want reform! We want reform! Like many, I am not satisfied with my healthcare, and especially now that my prescriptions aren’t covered, I’m screwed. I DO want reform. I DO want Obama’s plan. And I DO want a choice as to how I’m cared for at the end of my life! I’m just a typical American too! What we don’t need is expenisive liability insurance driving up health costs!

Synthia: What you are failing to realize is that should ObamaCare become law, the country will go bankrupt and your health care will be worse than it is now.
Does the health care system need reform? Absolutely. Does it need the type of reform that the Democrats are shoving down our throats? Absolutely not. As usual, the Democrats immediately increase the size of government and levy new taxes without considering other ideas to bring down costs. Their current plan will kill off the private insurance industry, as it is meant to, and once this happens Americans will have no choice with health care.

Oh! Knock off the ignorant nonsense, Nick! The country is not going to go bankrupt! The CBO has already said that the health care reforms will save billions of dollars over time. In other words, it will cost MORE tax dollars to do nothing, which is what Republicans want to do – ignore the problem like they did for 8 years. Or make it worse by passing an expensive Medicare drug entitlement without providing anyway to pay for it! Fiscally irresponsible imbeciles!!
And the Democrats are NOT shoving anything down our throats. The health care reforms have already passed the Senate with 60 votes. 60!!! The only thing they are going to pass with reconciliation are a few minor changes to make the House side happy and they do that with a majority vote. OMG!! Majority rules??!! Our democracy will surely fall apart now!!!!
And far from killing off private insurance, the health reform plan is a boon for private insurance because it will provide subsidies for everyone without health insurance to go out and buy private plans. That is why so many of the far-left Democrats are upset with the plan. They see it as a giveaway to the insurance industry.
Please turn off the Faux News and the Wingnut radio! They are lying to you.

Mike, you know, sometimes I wonder if you even bother with doing any research beyond Obama’s talking points and whatever the DNC is spewing this week.
Reforms will save billions: The CBO is making estimates on what might be saved if everything the Obama Administration has told them is true. The likelihood of these estimates being anywhere near reality is slim and none.
Republicans want to do nothing: Now you’re either woefully uninformed or purposely misleading. Most, if not all, Republicans want reform, just not the reform Obama’s pushing.
Democrats shoving Reform down our throats: Again, you’re either woefully uninformed or purposely misleading. Every poll done any polling service shows that the clear majority of the American people (latest numbers were 54% to 46% against) reject Health care reform as currently proposed. The Democrats in the Senate are tone-deaf to what their constituents want, and the only way Obama could get 60 votes was to buy them from the last few Senators (the “Cornhusker Kickback” and the “Louisiana Purchase”).
Killing off private insurance companies: Once the private sector sees how much money their business can save by eliminating health benefits for their employees, the only option left will be the government option. With no business from employers, private insurance companies will be forced to close because they won’t be able to make any money. There will never be any subsidies for payment of premiums on private plans. This is just one more provision that will “disappear” during reconciliation, along with anything else the Democrats have promised to try to get Republican support.
Please try to read something other than Democrat talking points or Obama’s speeches. Both have a poor record of telling the truth about anything with regards to this proposal.
