The UN is toothless, and anything they do is akin to pissing into the wind. Force is all that Kim Jong Il understands, and we have the means to take these things out right on the pad. Doing so would have sent a strong message to North Korea, as well as other terrorist states, that we mean business. Instead, we stood by and let them do whatever they wanted to. All that happened was that North Korea is now emboldened to do more. Its funny, but your first guess on what I'd want to happen involved dropping nukes. I've never advocated using nukes on North Korea in any but the most desperate times. Obviously, they aren't needed to defeat these guys; conventional smart weapons are more than enough to wipe out whatever missile capability they have or are working on at this time. However, just like Iran, they are working on their own nukes and if they should succeed in getting one up and running, the whole ballgame changes.
