Obama And The MSM: Come On Guys, Get A Room!
Thursday, January 29th, 2009Well, it has been a full week since Obama assumed the Presidency, and the love fest between the new President and the Main Stream Media shows no signs of letting up. The anchors on MSNBC are practically embarrassing themselves slobbering all over every word spoken by their chosen subject of worship. “Reporters” for the AP are going out of their way to put a positive spin on anything Obama says or does, while at the same time blaming all the country’s woes on George W. Bush. Example:
In an ambitious assault on global warming, Obama on Monday directed the Environmental Protection Agency to reconsider previous denials of applications by states wanting to set their own limits on the amount of greenhouse gases allowed in truck and car exhaust.
For a decade, environmentalists and states have urged the federal government to limit tailpipe emissions – mostly carbon dioxide – that are blamed for global warming.
For almost as long, the Bush administration refused to use existing law to control greenhouse gases, despite increasing scientific evidence that the Earth is warming and court rulings that said the government has the authority to act.
Of course, as is well known by people outside of the Environmentalist Whacko movement, a huge number of scientists and climatologists doubt the existence of Global Warming; however, the “reporter” here chooses to refer to global warming as an unchallenged fact.
So, how is all of the promised Hope and Change working out for you? Have you done your duty and stood before the mirror each morning and chanted Yes I Can! Yes I Can! Yes I Can!? Of course, according to Robert Reich, if you are a skilled, white male worker, no you can’t. He apparently wants all of the stimlus money to go only to unskilled, minority workers. Since most of what Obama wants to spend this money on are infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, etc.), I’d rather that the money go to whomever has the skill to correcly build these things. Actually, I would prefer that our government not enact this “stimulus” package, as all it will do is create another generation of government-dependant slackers who will look only to the taxpayer to support them.

That’s not true, Nick. The EXISTENCE of Global Warming is not doubted by ANY credible scientists.
There is a small minority of scientists who question whether man-made pollution is a significant cause of global warming. But nobody is questioning whether it actually exists.

If by “small minority of scientists” you mean over 31,000 in America alone, then you may have a point. However, I don’t think over 31,000 Phd’s, Masters, or bachelors scientists, in America alone, can be dismissed as a tiny minority.
Also, a majority of these scientists believe that the rising and falling of global temperatures is part of a cyclical pattern which has been going on for centuries, and is not being caused by man in any way, shape, or form.
I is common to see environmental wackos state their beliefs as though they were scientifically verified facts, when in almost all cases they are nothing more than opinion. Now, I am open minded enough to know that one day some scientist somewhere may find a scientific procedure which may confirm the Global Warming Theory. Then again, this scientist may prove just the opposite. The point being that it would be colossal stupidity to cripple the world’s economies by saddling them with the cost of modifying all of their financial and industrial infrastructure.
