Ever notice how much Keith Olbermann:

Looks like Robert Tilton?

They both command about the same amount of respect from their fellows (none) and the public trusts them just as much as they trust any other charlatan.

Just a thought: Ever notice how much George W. Bush looks like a chimpanzee? As for the amount of respect and public trust Olberman gets, maybe you should compare the ratings of his show, Countdown, to that of his closest rival, Bill O’Reilly, to get a better idea of that.

I have, and for the last couple of years, O’Reilly has cleaned Olbermann’s clock in the ratings. Here are the numbers from 5/19/2008:
8PM - P2+ (25-54)
The O’Reilly Factor- 2,247,000 viewers (507,000)
CNN Election Center– 692,000 viewers (183,000)
Countdown w/ Olbermann – 1,081,000 viewers (477,000)
Fast Money- 137,000 viewers (78,000)
Nancy Grace – 672,000 viewers (258,000)
Did you even bother to look this up before you commented?

I don’t see the comparison at all. Tilton was a con man who exploited people’s religious beliefs to get their money.
I don’t even think you can compare Olbermann to O’Reilly. Keith Olbermann is a news anchor with a liberal bias. O’Reilly is a right-wing talk-show host, and a particularly obnoxious one at that. Olbermann certainly never screams at this guests and tells them to “SHUT UP!!”
A better comparison for Olbermann would be Brit Hume, the news anchor for Fox with a very obvious rightwing bias.

Olbermann a “news anchor”? Are you serious? You’re joking, right?
Olbermann was only a so-so sports reporter on ESPN, and he actually knows something about sports. All he does on MSNBC is spout the latest liberal conspiracy theories and call the President names. If anything, Olbermann is a commentator, not an anchor. I mean, anchors are supposed to at least pretend to be objective, and Olbermann practically drinks the DailyKOS Kool-Aid on the air.
O’Reilly is, as he has pointed out several times, a commentator not a reporter. Yes, he is obnoxious and abrasive to some of his guests. People know this, and yet they continue to come on his show.
As for Brit Hume, Olbermann is clearly not in the same league. Brit has years and years of experience in reporting and commenting on politics having done so for years on both Fox and ABC. Olbermann has … Sportscenter for a few years and Countdown, a show which regularly gets trounced in the ratings by O’Reilly.
