Is The Past Catching Up To The Hildebeast™?
Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008Another day, another credible indictment of Senator Hillary Clinton’s character from a fellow Democrat who used to work with her:
The now-retired general counsel and chief of staff of the House Judiciary Committee, who supervised Hillary when she worked on the Watergate investigation, says Hillary’s history of lies and unethical behavior goes back farther – and goes much deeper – than anyone realizes.
Jerry Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, supervised the work of 27-year-old Hillary Rodham on the committee. Hillary got a job working on the investigation at the behest of her former law professor, Burke Marshall, who was also Sen. Ted Kennedy’s chief counsel in the Chappaquiddick affair. When the investigation was over, Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation – one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman’s 17-year career.
Why?
“Because she was a liar,” Zeifman said in an interview last week. “She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.”
Remember, Watergate is the liberal Holy Grail. They gather at partys to watch tapes of the hearings and the DVD of All The President’s Men. In short, nothing brings liberals more pride or pleasure than thinking about Watergate. Now it appears, that during the whole time, The Hildebeast™ was engaging in the very acts that they were prosecuting Nixon for. See if what she did back then reminds you of anything more recent:
The actions of Hillary and her cohorts went directly against the judgment of top Democrats, up to and including then-House Majority Leader Tip O’Neill, that Nixon clearly had the right to counsel. Zeifman says that Hillary, along with Marshall, Nussbaum and Doar, was determined to gain enough votes on the Judiciary Committee to change House rules and deny counsel to Nixon. And in order to pull this off, Zeifman says Hillary wrote a fraudulent legal brief, and confiscated public documents to hide her deception.
…
The Judiciary Committee allowed Douglas to keep counsel, thus establishing the precedent. Zeifman says he told Hillary that all the documents establishing this fact were in the Judiciary Committee’s public files. So what did Hillary do?
“Hillary then removed all the Douglas files to the offices where she was located, which at that time was secured and inaccessible to the public,” Zeifman said. Hillary then proceeded to write a legal brief arguing there was no precedent for the right to representation by counsel during an impeachment proceeding – as if the Douglas case had never occurred.
The brief was so fraudulent and ridiculous, Zeifman believes Hillary would have been disbarred if she had submitted it to a judge.
Let’s see, Hillary hiding legal files which were material to an ongoing investigation — where have we heard that before? Oh yeah: The Rose Law Firm Billing Records. Apparently, for the Hildebeast™, this tactic is an oldy, but a goodie. Like most liberals, she appears to have only one play book when it comes to tactics, and that play book has never been revised. About all that play book is good for now is to establish her modus operandi.

With each day that passes, yet another reason why The Hildebeast™ should never again be allowed in the White House parking lot, let alone the White House itself, is presented to the public. A lot of these accounts are not new to conservatives; we’ve heard them before. However, now that the liberals are finally taking a hard, honest look at Senator Clinton, they are starting to see what conservatives saw twelve years ago.
Guess what? Even they can’t believe they supported her.

Not quite. When we liberals see “All The President’s Men” these days, we weep at the memory of the last time our Fourth Branch actually functioned properly and at the reminder that the despotism of George W. Bush makes Nixon, by contrast, seem like a Boy Scout.
I realize, Nick, that it is fashionable in rightwing circles to be a tasteless as possible, especially concerning the Clintons, but I often wonder at times – such as when I see things like that last image in your post – if there is ever any bottom level for rightwing tastelessness. There doesn’t appear to be.

Actually, the picture in this post is a fair depiction of how the press used to be treated by Hillary Clinton. If you will recall, she used to get the same type of treatment Obama is now getting; softball questions, fawning reporters, etc. In fact, if she wasn’t given that treatment, she wouldn’t give the interview. Thus, it seemed as though she had emasculated the press.
As for tastelessness, there is more than enough of that on both sides of the aisle. For eight years now, I’ve been looking at the left photoshopping Bush into Hitler and reading how the left wants Bush killed, assassinated, hung, burned, shot, aborted, etc.

I hate those images too – they’re insulting to Hitler. As a member in fairly good standing of The Left, I can tell you that I want none of those things. As an American who loves my country and believes deeply in our founding principles, I just want him indicted, convicted and jailed for war crimes.

So much for due process, huh? Also, since this was all authorized by Congress, I suppose we’ll have to indict, convict and jail them as well.
As far as war crimes, shut up. He hasn’t committed any, and unless you can prove it otherwise, you’re just making yourself look ignorant.
