The pursuit of truth is for us dinosaurs. A liberal feels guilty when they tell the truth because they passed up an opportunity to “lie for justice.” I was invited to meet the people who make up Light of Day Films. Great guys, top flank “Touched by an Angel” refugees. They are bent on “building a new aesthetic”. They say: “It’s political correctness vs. democracy.” They have a not-so-short video on the Web. First I was very disappointed, then I watched it again, then again. I’m hooked. It’s demanding to watch at first, but it’s great! There’s a line in it that your article reminded me of. The guy is explaining that when America was being created “The pursuit of truth was not just a fairytale. The pursuit of truth distinguished man from monster” See http://www.lightofday.net.

Clinton lied about sex. That’s it. The rest is all politics and I can come up with a list of “lies” told by George W. Bush that is every bit as long as anything that could be put together for the Clintons.

Those quotation marks don't need to be around the word "lies" in that sentence. The lies that GWB have told are far more egregious and destructive than anything ever uttered by Bill Clinton, resulting in the deaths of (now) more than 4000 American soldiers, not to mention the deaths of thousands upon thousands of innocent civilians, the crippling injuries of countless more, the displacement of millions of Iraqis, and the decimation of their country along with our moral standing in the world and our economy. That's right, Bush lied and people died.

Nick, you began your post by asking what we think of when we hear "Bill Clinton". What I think of is 8 years of peace, economic growth and prosperity under his capable leadership. I think of how proud I was to have a First Lady who was so much more than a figurehead, but who was gracious and smart and clearly an active partner in capable leadership with her husband. I think of a President who makes GWB look like a tantrum-throwing 3-year-old by comparison. Like Mike, I am an Obama supporter, but I have nothing but respect and admiration for Hillary Clinton. I don't like the infighting that is going on within the Democratic Party right now, but it's our infighting and I think conservatives would do well to refrain from comment, given the state of their own Party, thanks primarily to - you got it - George W. Bush.

Oh, OK, the old "he only lied about sex" canard. I bet you believe this because it lets you stay in the same fantasy land that thinks Clinton was a "great" president. This is illuminating.

Look here for a list of Clinton whoppers.

I'm sorry, but if Hillary feels like she has to "embellish" (as you put it) the facts of such a little-remembered, unimportant trip as First Lady to make herself look good, what's she going to do when the stakes are higher? If her advisers are encouraging this kind of stuff, what will these same advisers tell her to do if she actually wins the election? More to the point: When does she think it is OK to lie to the American Public?

And by the way, since the people charged with the First Lady's security would never have allowed her to get anywhere near a live fire zone in a military theater of operations, I find it unlikely that she confused the Bosnia trip with another trip. Unless, of course, either of you can point me to a source of information that proves that she once did land in a military zone and had to run for cover under sniper fire. Go ahead, let's see it. Don't worry, I won't force you to do that; I know it doesn't exist.

Finally, one person's bad behavior cannot be excused by another person's bad behavior. Just because politician A lies doesn't mean that it is OK for politician B to lie as well. Just because McCain may have lied doesn't excuse the torrent of falsehoods that the Clintons have unleashed over the years.

It must be frustrating to have all this pent-up Hillary hatred only to find out that she won’t be the Democratic presidential nominee afterall.
I may be supporting Obama, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to join you in this baseless Hillary bashing.
I can’t explain what she was thinking with her misremembering and embellishment of her Bosnia trip. I had assumed that she was just confusing it with some other trip. Nevertheless, I think it all pales in comparison to John McCain’s bald-faced lie last week about Iran (Shiite) training and supporting al-Quaeda (Sunni) groups in Iraq. That is the kind of lie that gets us into unneccessary wars that result in the deaths of 4,000-plus U.S. servicemen.
And this tirade about the Clinton’s lying all the time is just a lot of political blather. Clinton lied about sex. That’s it. The rest is all politics and I can come up with a list of “lies” told by George W. Bush that is every bit as long as anything that could be put together for the Clintons.
