Do you remember when Willie Nelson was relevant? Me neither, but somebody forgot to tell him:
AUSTIN — American icon Willie Nelson says he supports efforts to impeach President Bush and “throw the bastards out,” adding that the administration will do anything to stay in power, including staging an event to cancel the election.
Nelson made the comments on a radio show Thursday, saying that he supported Dennis Kucinich’s attempt to impeach Bush.
“If you break the law you have to pay for it one way or another, and if these guys haven’t broke the law nobody has,” said Nelson. “The deck’s been stacked and we need to figure out a way to get a new fresh deck in there in the deal and I don’t know how else to do it except throw the bastards out.”
I think that this is a fair representation of Nelson’s beverage of choice:

Here is something that these liberals suffering from BDS need to consider: As acrimonious as the relationship between the left and the right is these days, if there were a legitimate case to be made for the impeachment of the President don’t you think that the Democrat leadership would be pursuing it at full speed?
In fact, Nelson is nothing more than just another member of the fringe element of the left who wants to punish the right for the Impeachment of their one and only savior, Bill Clinton. I wouldn’t be surprised if these guys keep trying to impeach Bush after he leaves office. I mean, once Bush is out of office, who are they going to focus their rage and anger on? It’s plain that rage and anger are the only two things driving these people, and without anyone to focus it on they’ll be wandering around the country like a ticking time bomb. I pity the person who sets them off.

While I like Willie Nelson, I would just note that he is not an elected official nor a spokesman for the Democratic Party.
And I would note that the Republic Party certainly has its fair share of Kool Aid drinkers, many of whom actually do hold positions of power in the party.
That is the difference. While you will hear people on the Democratic side talk about impeaching Bush, they generally don’t hold sway over the Party. By contrast Republic Kool Aide drinkers actually forced an impeachment vote against Bill Clinton, demonstrating their stranglehold on the Republic Party.

You mean people like Denis Kucinich (D-Ohio)? He didn’t just talk about impeaching Bush; he’s sponsoring the bill. There are other Kool-Aid drinkers like Sheila Jackson Lee.
The difference between the left’s impeachment calls nows and the calls for Clinton’s impeachment is that Clinton was actually found guilty by a judge of breaking the law.

There were also bills filed to impeach Ronald Reagan and George Bush the Elder as well. None of them went anywhere.
And you are absolutely wrong about Clinton. He was NOT found guilty by a judge of breaking the law. Ever.
He was cited by a judge for civil contempt of court, but that is not the same thing as being found guilty of breaking the law. And that all occurred AFTER the Republic impeachment crusade.
The whole crux of the impeachment was based on a perjury trap set up by Ken Starr after he got tipped off about the Monica Lewinsky affair. Starr was intent on forcing the president into a lie by humiliating him with the Lewinsky affair. Clinton tried to skirt the issue by claiming that “sexual relations” only meant intercourse and not oral sex. It was seedy, sordid and disgraceful on both sides, and unlike the grounds for impeachment levied against Bush, it had NOTHING to do with Clinton’s presidency. The public ultimately didn’t care about Clinton’s private life and continued to support him because of the great job he was doing in office. That is why Clinton left office with a nearly 60 percent approval rating compared to Bush’s current 19 percent.

As always with the Clintons, you have to parse every single word from ten different angles to try to understand what he did and didn’t do. In the Arkansas Disbarment proceeding, he admitted to conduct “prejudicial to the administration of justice” and gave up his law license for 5 years and paid a fine. While he did not admit to obstructing justice, what he did admit to was the same thing, reworded so he could claim, as you do, that he was not found guilty.
BTW, the reason people didn’t care wasn’t because he was doing a great job; it was because after 8 years of scandal after scandal after scandal they were sick and tired of hearing about it.

Nick. There are these things called “polls” and, while far from perfect, they are the best instrument we have of being able to tell with a fair amount of objectivity what people think. Here is a chart that shows the numbers for GWB and here are the numbers for Bill Clinton. Now, I’m reasonably sure that if there had been a poll that asked the question, “Are you sick of hearing about Clinton-related scandals?” that the answer would be consistently and across-the-board “Yes!”, but the job approval ratings (and their consistency) speak volumes about what people thought about those “scandals” related to the job that Mr. Clinton was doing as President.

The dhimmierats have had a monopoly on Kool Aid for years, at least since 1968. Remebre when the dhimmies told us surrendering 9n Vietnam was a great idea? Or when Jimmy told us surrendering the Panama Canal would make the world love us? My favorite was the Dhimmierats bottomless hole spending programs such as Head Start, Tax Credits, Section 8 Housing, fill in the blank welfare programs, food stamps, etc, etc which the GOP poarticipated in proving “progressivism” is a disease that afflects the weak of mind and spirit. One searches in vain for one success of liberalism.
Of note is the current housing loan crisis created by the Left under the rubric of the Community Investment act which forced banks to relax lending standards. We can also look at the crisis that the enthanol actions of the tree hugginh left have created, causing 35% of thte total grain crop to be diverted to this government sdubsidized boondoogle.
Here’s to the Kool AIde Kings. I can’t wait for Osama. He promises to increase our foreign aid by a factor of ten. And its done so much good, why after sixty years look at how Affrica has progressed, not to mention the zone of peace its created in the Middle East.

Oh dear. I was going to mention the public education system as one of the many successes of liberalism. But it clearly failed at least as far as poor Thomas Jackson’s education was concerned. His spelling, grammar and knowledge of history are just atrocious. He must have been one of those students who was “left behind.” But perhaps it’s not too late for some remedial education.
But in the meantime, let me just point out that one of the things that makes this such a great country is the fact that we take care of our poor and our young and our elderly and don’t leave them to fester in poverty like so many of the third world nations do. And Head Start, public housing, food stamps, etc. are some of the key programs that sets us apart from those third world countries. And while those programs are not perfect, and there is always room for improvements, they have done tremendous good by supporting our weakest citizens and helping to prop up a strong middle class that is the engine of our nation’s economy.
