Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS) has struck Boulder, Colorado:
Boulder’s elected leaders are expected to decide next week whether to draft and vote on a resolution calling for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.
For the past few weeks, activists have been showing up at Boulder City Council meetings, carrying signs, handing out “impeach” pins and asking City Council members to take up such a resolution. Similar measures have passed in cities across the country, including Detroit and Telluride.
Liz Robinson, one of the organizers of the effort, said people hoping to see impeachment proceedings have given congressional Democrats — who won a majority in the fall of 2006 — plenty of time to act.
But since they haven’t, she said, locally elected officials should take up the slack.
“Whether or not it’s the city’s business directly, like potholes, I feel this affects all of us,” she said. “We’re the ones who are paying the taxes to support this administration’s depredations, especially the war.”
Impeachment proceedings would be worth doing even if they only put the last few months of Bush’s eight years in office at risk, Robinson said.
“We need to send a message that this all matters to us, whether it’s last-minute or not,” she said.
This is a perfect example of how anger and rage can cloud your judgment and make someone make exceedingly bad decisions. President Bush’s second term of office ends in less than a year, and with Congress controlled by the Democrats, he is now the definition of a “lame duck” president. Instead of directing their energy and enthusiasm towards the campaigns of the two Democrats seeking the presidency, these rage-engulfed zombies continue to bash the president and seek impeachment for perceived wrong-doings by the Bush Administration.
Never mind that the legal basis for their impeachment case is questionable at best, instead of trying to change the political landscape via the ballot box, these bloodthirsty crazies want nothing less than to bathe in President Bush’s political blood. Surely, rage at the President and Vice-President has been fueled by personal dislike to the point of rendering these people senseless. I mean, these people are trying to pass a resolution which will have absolutely zero impact on anything. Don’t these people have anything better to do, like find JoBenet Ramsey’s murderer?
BDS has been running rampant in the blue areas of the country for a few years now. You’d think that the upcoming election combined with Bush’s “lame duck” standing would have been more than enough to quell its growth. You’d be wrong. Instead, it seems that the closer we get to the election, the wider it spreads, as if these people are trying to pile on as much as they can before January 20, 2009. Indeed, sometimes I wonder what will happen to these people after President Bush leaves office. Once their obsession is taken away from them, how will they react? What will give their life meaning and purpose?

Actually, it’s more a matter of legalities than supposedly irrational hatred.
But I bet that’s not something you concern yourself with.

Name one law that was broken. Just one. Not an action that you think is illegal, or an action that you disagree with and therefore hope is illegal, but one action taken by the President that clearly broke the law. State the law that was broken with citation to the source. Go ahead, let’s see it.

Gosh Nick, why don’t we start with FISA? Bush has actually ADMITTED to breaking that one. Then there’s that whole torture and rendition thing, not to mention Bush’s HUNDREDS of signing statements wherein he declares himself not bound by the laws he just signed into effect for everyone else in the country but himself. Come on, Nick. George W. has spent his entire life believing (regrettably justifiably so, for the most part) that rules and laws just don’t apply to him. He is the worst kind of person to hand actual power to, and the whole world is quite reasonably sick of him. He’s done infinitely more damage to our country than any of Clinton’s blowjobs ever did, that’s for sure.

Wow Ann did you take your meds? Exactly what laws were broken? I’m sooo worried about the torture thing? Can you tell me about it. Can you explain why it is worse than adhering to Article IV of the the Geneva Convention regarding how these men should have been treated.
Of course when the Left gets on its morality kick I am always reminded of how they protested the torture (real not fraternity stuff) that our troops are subjected to. Yes we must obey the laws unless you are a Leftist moonbat who tells Slick Willie using women as humidors and prejuring himself wasn’t breaking any laws, its was only about sex.
Typical objectivity on the lefts part. But we can all rejoice in the Left’s judgement and sense of reality.
Osama is here to save our souls, although everyone knows the Left doesn’t believe in such claptrap and we should all pray to enter the people’s paradise in the hereafter.
Res ipsa loquitur.

Speaking of going off one’s meds, can anyone out there explain or decipher what Thomas said? It didn’t make one lick of sense.
