Preview of a Hillary Clinton Administration?

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

After the State of Florida voted to move it’s primary date to before Super Tuesday, the National Democrat Party punished the Florida Democrat Party by stripping them of their convention delegates. Also, all of the Democrat candidates pledged not to campaign in Florida. However, now that Hillary’s cloak of inevitability has been shredded, she’s looking for any way she can to increase her delegate count. So, she has decided to do two things: first, she has decided to campaign in Florida, abandoning her earlier promise not to do so. Second, she is now seeking to have Florida and Michigan delegates seated at the Democrat Convention.

She arrived in Sarasota taking care to abide by the details of the agreement, because events in Sarasota and later in Miami were not open to the public.

With a wink at the deal, Clinton carefully staged her arrival so she left her airplane with palm trees in the background for photographer. Asked if she was happy to be in Florida, she said: “How could you not be. It is absolutely glorious. It is a perfect day here in Florida.”

After Florida moved its primary up to Tuesday in an attempt to play a bigger role in choosing the presidential nominees, the Democratic National Committee said it would refuse to seat the state’s delegation at the national convention in late August. But it is expected that the eventual nominee will try to reverse that decision because of Florida’s crucial role in the general election.

Clinton already is on record favoring that step.

“I will try to persuade my delegates to seat the delegates from Michigan and Florida,” said Clinton in Tennessee, arguing that she was bowing to political reality. “Democrats have to win Michigan and have to try to win Florida and I intend to do that. The people of Florida deserve to be represented in the process of picking a candidate for president of the United States.”

Michigan also violated party rules by moving its primary to Jan. 15, and party leaders voted to strip the state of its 156 delegates as punishment.

Question: If Hillary won’t live up to the agreements she makes with her own political party, why should any foreign government have any faith that she’ll live up to agreements she makes with them?

When it comes to the Clintons, credibility has always been a problem. Eight years of watching Billy-Jeff bold-face lie to both the American public and the American Justice System was bad enough to tinge anything one of the Clintons said with doubt. Now, in her attempts to get her own term in the White House, Hillary is falling back to the old habits of her husband. Is this the “change” she’s been talking about on the campaign trail?

The National Democrat Party? Never heard of it. Same with the Florida Democrat Party. I think you mean the Democratic Party. This petty business of dropping the -ic to slight Democrats is a pet peeve of mine. I don’t know who first started doing it, but I know that Newt Gingrich encouraged it when he was Speaker as part of his effort to use language to vilify and denigrate the political opposition.

On the Hillary/Obama race, I’m surprised to see that it is so close. Same with Romney/McCain. I think Florida will finally put Giuliani out of his misery, but it may still be a two-person race on both sides when Texas gets to vote in March.

You know, I use the term as a way to make a distinction between the modern Democrats and the Democrats from 1960 and earlier. The earlier Democrats understood the need for a strong military, whereas modern Democrats seem to think if we’re just nicer to those who attack us, they’ll leave us alone. I don’t see how it “vilifies” anyone, and if calling the party “Democrat” is a vilification, then why isn’t calling an individual a “Democrat” a vilification?

Regarding Giuliani, he must have almost all of the early vote if he has any shot. I saw today that somewhere close to a million voters in Florida took advantage of early voting, so a strong second-place finish isn’t out of the question.

Regarding the Billary/Obama race, all I can do is sit back, get some popcorn, and laugh my ass off watching the Clinton political machine do to Obama what its done to Repulicans for years; mostly lie, deceive, and divide the voters. Finally, liberals are starting to realize how dishonest and dirty these people are, and all I have to say is, WE TOLD YOU SO.

It’s the difference between using it as a noun and an adjective. Think of how you call yourself an American from the United States of America. You wouldn’t say “I’m an America.” Nor would you say “I live in American.” It is just improper usage. The person using it that way is either ignorant of the correct usage, or is misusing it intentionally to make a statement.
Here is an article that gives all the background and detail.

As for this nonsense that modern Democrats are anti-military, I’ll just say that most Democrats would never have sent our troops off without adequate equipment, armor or numbers to fight in a bloody civil war that was totally unrelated to the terrorist attack on our nation. And I will remind you that Osama bin Laden is still free today, al-Qaeda (the global terrorist network and not the sockpuppet wannabes in Iraq) is reportedly stronger today than it was before 9/11 and, in addition, they are rid of one of their archnemesis in the Middle East, one Saddam Hussein.
And that doesn’t even get into the other awful aspects of this administration’s shameful treatment of our troops, from cutting back on combat pay and widowers benefits, to the wretched state of Veteran’s health care.
Did you ever wonder why almost all of the combat veterans coming back from Iraq who get into politics run as Democrats?

As for the political infighting between Hillary and Obama, I’ll just say that it doesn’t hold a candle to the nastiness of the McCain – Romney slugfest. Sheesh!
