I don’t know about you, but I am slowly going crazy over the wall-to-wall, 24/7/365 coverage of the death of Anna Nicole Smith. I tune into Fox News, hoping to find out about what is going on in Iraq or with politics and all I get is live coverage of some hearing in Florida over who gets this woman’s body to bury.
Enough already!
This woman’s death rated a minute or two on the day she died, and that’s it. She was a celebrity, not a head of state, great scientist or other luminary. Yes, there will be a fight over her estate, but you know what? We don’t need constant live shots and updates over each and every court hearing. If you must cover this stuff, how about a small nightly summary whenever anything of significance happens? Significant, as in a settlement or final judgment, not as in one lawyer yelling at the other.
Anyway, Larry Miller has the best angle on this whole mess that I’ve read.
