This is an image from one of the many immigration protests this past weekend:

Do we really want people who do things like this to become citizens?I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want happening is the U.S. Government letting people who obviously
hate America become citizens. I don’t even want them visiting America.I have not even bothered to read any of the currently pending immigration proposals, mostly because they’re all doomed to fail. The reason that they’re all doomed to fail is because not a single one of them addresses the main problem of illegal immigration: preventing those who are deported from returning. It’s all well and good to say that you’re going to round up all the illegal aliens and put them on trucks or buses and ship them back to Mexico, but how are you going to keep them back in Mexico? Really, why spend all that money on vehicles, gas, and manpower if the illegal aliens you take back to Mexico come back across the border in less than a week?I have been
advocating building a wall along the U.S. – Mexico border for a long time. A wall along the border as I have described would keep those who are deported from returning illegally, as well as allow for those Mexicans who are immigrating legally to continue to enter the country. There isn’t a single, solitary thing about building this wall that is racist. These protesters play the race card because they think it gives them a free ride to do and say whatever they want without repercussions. As far as the Main Stream Media goes, that’s probably true. They’ve got lots of
articles on these protests and the current
proposals. If you read these articles, you’ll notice that the press treats the illegal aliens like they’re fighting for their god-given rights to come to America and break the law. It’s like they’re equating these protests with the civil-rights protests of the 1960’s. Truth is, the blacks who were protesting for their civil rights in the 1960’s
were fighting for their god-given rights; these illegal aliens are pissed off because the U.S. Government is going to crack down on them for breaking the law. In my estimation, it’s a huge difference. Then there are the
students in California who are protesting. Does anyone really think that these kids care a lick about any of this? Can any of these ankle-biters even spell the word immigration? Do you think that any of these students would have participated if they had not gotten out of school and got to cause havoc on the streets of the city?Look, this whole situation is very, very simple. If you are a citizen of a foreign country (yes, Mexico, I mean you), and you want to come to America to live and work, there are a few rules you have to follow. If you follow the rules and behave yourself while you’re here, you are never going to have a problem. If you want to become a naturalized citizen, there are a few more rules and requirements, but again, if you follow them all you’ll have no trouble and you’ll be as welcome as if you were born here.
However, if you’d rather not go through the trouble of following the rules, and you enter the U.S. illegally, and you set up house somewhere and start sending the money you earn back to Mexico, fail to pay your income taxes, and rely on the American taxpayer to pay for your medical treatment and the education of your kids, we’re not going to tolerate it anymore. We’re not going to roll out the red carpet and be grateful for the fact that you’ll work on our lawns for a couple bucks an hour. In short, we’re tired of providing you with a free ride. The gravy train has come to an end.
As usual, Michelle Malkin is on top of this whole situation.
