Hypocrisy Department, Democrats are on line one:
Black Democratic leaders in Maryland say that racially tinged attacks against Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele in his bid for the U.S. Senate are fair because he is a conservative Republican.
Such attacks against the first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland include pelting him with Oreo cookies during a campaign appearance, calling him an “Uncle Tom” and depicting him as a black-faced minstrel on a liberal Web log.
Operatives for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) also obtained a copy of his credit report — the only Republican candidate so targeted.
But black Democrats say there is nothing wrong with “pointing out the obvious.”
If it weren’t so tragic, this would be funny. Democrats have been branding Republicans, and Conservatives in general, for years as racists and bigots, and as it turns out, Democrats are the actual racists and bigots. Their only excuse for their behavior is that Michael Steele is a black conservative. It’s the same excuse they use when they demean Condi Rice and Clarence Thomas.
So let me get this straight: According to liberals, it is okay to be racist and bigoted as long as the target of the racism and bigotry is a conservative? Is this right? Would any liberals care to explain this to me?
“Party trumps race, especially on the national level,” she said. “If you are bold enough to run, you have to take whatever the voters are going to give you. It’s democracy, perhaps at its worse, but it is democracy.”
Delegate Salima Siler Marriott, a black Baltimore Democrat, said Mr. Steele invites comparisons to a slave who loves his cruel master or a cookie that is black on the outside and white inside because his conservative political philosophy is, in her view, anti-black.
“Because he is a conservative, he is different than most public blacks, and he is different than most people in our community,” she said. “His politics are not in the best interest of the masses of black people.”
Can you believe this? Imagine what would happen if the people who were saying these things were white Republicans. It would be on the front page of every paper in the country and the lead story on every network news broadcast. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be rush to Maryland to get on television to decry the racist remarks. Louis Farrakhan would convine another “Million Man” march and once again preach for the destruction of the white race. You wouldn’t be able to escape the coverage of the remarks.
State Sen. Verna Jones, Baltimore Democrat and vice chairman of the General Assembly’s legislative black caucus, said black Republicans deserve criticism because the Republican Party has not promoted the interests of the black community.
“The public policies supported by Democratic principles are the ones that most impact the African-American community,” she said. “I’m not saying [Mr. Steele] is a sell-out. That’s not for me to say.”
In July, however, Mr. Mfume noted how Republicans were rallying for Mr. Steele but his party had ignored his historic candidacy. “More voters in Maryland are carrying the impression that the Democratic Party talks the talk, but doesn’t always walk the walk. People may find a way to cross over in the fall,” he said.
Steele campaign spokesman Leonardo Alcivar said state Democrats are afraid of losing the black vote to Mr. Steele.
“That has caused a great tremble throughout the Maryland Democratic Party,” he said. “Of course [they are] going to condone racism. It’s nothing new, and it’s not surprising.”
It’s always ugly when a group eats it own. Just remember, liberals, that when it comes right down to it, you are just as racist and bigoted as any conservative you talk about. It is no longer possible for you to claim the high ground when it comes to issues of race in this country; these actions have abdicated it.

The reason they call them “Uncle Toms” and such is because the only thing Powell, Rice, Steele et al have in common with REAL black folks is the color of their skin, that’s all. No empathy, no compassion for the black experience as obviously any person of dark complexion who is in bed with the Republifascists cares nothing for that and is someone who comes from the bourgeois segment of society. They see an opportunity for personal gain in that they offer a few “black” faces amongst the sea of old wrinkled white bourgeois politicians to make the racist, corporatist machine falsely appear a little more diverse. From starting out sheltered from the daily struggles with racism and classism so inherent in American society for black folks, they’ve avoided the experiences that shape REAL black folks’ attitudes towards the establishment and thus they never have real empathy for them or their plight. Bottom line, anybody who thinks that “Aunt Jemima” Rice and “Uncle Tom” Powell are real black people needs to have their head examined.

You know, it takes a real small mind to think that just because someone doesn’t agree with your politcal opinions they’re not really black. Liberals have been using this excuse for years to shun those African Americans who happen to be conservative, instead of dealing with their ideas and arguments.

Let’s look at what your “REAL black folks” have done to their brothers and sisters in Michael Steele’s home county, Prince George’s County, Maryland.
EVERY county and state level elected official in Prince George’s County is a Democrat.
The majority of them are Black.
Half of the non-Black minority are Hispanic.
Top school adminsitrators are predominately Black.
If you believe the rhetoric of the Democratic Party and of so-called black leaders, you would expect Prince George’s County to be a paradise, especially for “minorities.”
You would be wrong.
Prince George’s County’s rapidly increasing murder rate is second highest in Maryland and the highest in the Washington, DC, suburbs.
Prince George’s County’s schools are the second worst in Maryland and the worst in the Washington, DC, suburbs. The Black school chief recently resigned while being investigated by the FBI; one of his top assistants ($130,000 per year and also black) has just been convicted on federal drug laundering charges and has been indicted on witness tampering charges.
Prince George’s County has more car thefts and violent carjackings than all the rest of Maryland and the DC suburbs put together.
The Democratic Party, with the aid of their own Uncle Toms, has sold the majority black population of Prince George’s County down the river.
Attacking Michael Steele is just part of the Democrats scheme to distract the public and the press from their ongoing abysmal failure to either protect or educate the people of Prince George’s County.
