I used to think, circa Skokie, that the ACLU was a decent organization if sometimes picking too many nits. That slowly changed. And I am not alone - last the DA on &lt;i&gt;Law and Order&lt;/i&gt;. said that he had been a member since college but was considering dropping his membership. OK, Hollywood script - but if tha ACLU can lose Hollywood, is anyone left? 
 
Also, VOLOKH blog is posting interesting stuff - like the founder of the ACLU apparently admired (!) Stalin&#039;s use of force to suppress dissent. Some excerpts at Clayton&#039;s place if you don&#039;t want through the whole thing -
