Blog Revisions

Wednesday, April 27th, 2005

I have made a few subtle changes in the blog’s style sheet. Hopefully, these changes will make the blog easier to read and look better.

  1. I changed the color of the hyperlinks from blue to black. Black just looks better with red, grey, and white.

  2. At the bottom of each entry, I’ve replaced the text labels with icons for Permalinks, Comments, Trackbacks, and Categories. I think this looks a lot better than the text labels, and they take up less room. I’ve used ALT and TITLE tages, so if you hold your mouse pointer over each icon, it will tell you what it is.
  3. I’ve updated the version of the MT-CloseComments plugin that I am using on the blog to the latest version. If you are not using this plugin on your own MovableType blog, you should be. You can find the plugin and it’s documentation here.
  4. I’ve updated the Favorite Icon for the site.
  5. I’ve changed the font to what I consider to be a more readable font. This change was made about a month ago, so don’t panic if you think that the font looks the same as it did yesterday — it does!
  6. I’ve upgraded Movable Type to version 3.16. They say that they have fixed over a hundred bugs, and they have also improved the “no follow” plugin.

As always, your comments are not only welcome, but encouraged. If you have any ideas about the site’s design, I want to hear them as well.

Hat Tip: Kevin at Wizbang for the inspiration for the icons.
