A Noteworthy Event

Thursday, March 31st, 2005

March 30, 2005 was my wife’s parent’s 42nd wedding anniversary. As in-laws go, I definitely got the cream of the crop. These good-hearted souls took me in before they even knew how to spell my last name, and have treated me like family ever since.

Every time my wife or I have needed something, they have been there. It is always a pleasure to see them each winter as they migrate from Oregon to Texas for the winter. Even though they usually stay three or four months, it always seems to be not long enough when it is time for them to leave.

My wife and I will never be able to repay their kindness and generosity in our lifetimes, and they don’t expect us to. When you have people like this who care about you, your life is enriched beyond belief.

Here is a picture of them taken at Christmas of 2000.

Doran and Fran, Rene and I love you very much and can’t wait to see you in October.

Nick, thanks for the kind comments on our 42nd anniversary. But, as a matter of fact, we got the best end of the deal. Doran & Fran
